Spatial differentiation. The idea was borrowed from systems like SharedNotes  in which a specific region within a slide is defined as a “public” area and the rest of the slide is a “private” area. In our case, only notes within the public area (the area within the frame, see Fig. 4) may be shown on the public display. This design is intuitive and robust, but it prevents users from writing personal comments near pertinent information in the public area. Furthermore, users must determine a priori what to submit and what not to submit, which is not compatible with the typical user experience.
As it is, Moving Pictures only offers the recording of sounds with the video. With iMovie, children never experimented using different endings with their video footages. In our evaluation with Moving Pictures, children captured and revisited their video story elements, edited and experimented with various positions of their shots within the story and this even if the number of shots was only five for the story. With Moving Pictures, children created a soundtrack using sound mixed together. In early sessions, children asked each other and test leaders for help as soon as they did not understand the instructions.
