Get out of bed: one hand on the arm of my chair, the other on the grab bar on the wall, lever myself into the chair, settle in. Unlock the brakes. Wheel over to my desk. Punch the button that wakes up my old hand-held OSDeck. In the kitchenette, the Mr. Coffee machine gurgles steadily and I can hear elixir of life dripping into the carafe. I try to keep from feeling embarrassed, and more, try to keep from broadcasting the feeling across the gestalt. I try not to cut her off too abruptly. “Yeah. ” The sensation memories percolating out of her fade before they go too far into the moist details.
